Personally, I think that any James Bond movie HAS to be seen on the big screen. I love action movies, especially James Bond, and the special effects within them are incredible. The explosions, gun battles, and car chases cannot compare to anything else other movies have to offer. James Bond has to be seen on the big screen because the close-up view and surround sound you get in a movie theater just doesn't compare to your standard movie watching experience at home. You feel like you are in the movie itself, getting caught up in all the action. You can see and feel the explosions around you as a car or building blows up while sitting in comfortable chairs with the movie snack essentials of (for me personally) popcorn, a large blue raspberry Icee, and some Buncha Crunch. The car chases feel like you are in the car going 120 miles per hour, whipping around the rural mountainous regions of wherever James Bond and his crew find themselves this time to save someone. I think that the top reason James Bond has to be seen on the big screen is simply the gun battles. A must of Bond movies, gun battles are best when you are able to see every little detail blown up on the big screen rather than missing small, but important, details on your small television at home. James Bond movies often feature quick glimpses of new villains during these tense back and forth gun battles and it is important to catch every detail of the scene. On the big screen, your eyes can quickly bounce between James Bond, his accomplices, and these new or old villains with ease. It is much harder to do this while watching the same movies at home as the screen is so much smaller and cramped so your eyes gloss over the little details that are important to the plot. I myself have watched James Bond movies both at home as well as on the big screen and the experience just doesn't come close. Although you get the benefit of watching in the comfort of your own home where you can pause the movie, not have to worry about leaving and coming back home, and can enjoy without the expense of purchasing tickets and snacks, you miss out on being able to catch all the little nuances that filmmakers include in the James Bond films that make the movies just that much better. While veterans of seeing the Bond movies can go back and forth with watching the films on the big screen, a television, or device they always go to experience the newest Bond movie on the big screen. Those who are new to the franchise would not have the same first-time experience watching a James Bond movie on a smaller screen as the tense action moments are simply not the same when compared to seeing the movie on the big screen with the immaculate sound and massive screen allowing the watcher to see EVERYTHING. When you can see everything going on in the James Bond films you are more easily able to connect with the characters and able to piece together the plans the villains have for the characters before James Bond is even able to do it himself. Experiencing the James Bond movies on the big screen cannot compare to seeing them in any other fashion.
